our history

Range Area Mountain Bike Association (RAMBA) began as a grassroots organization. RAMBA continued as this "loose knit" club and was known for its very well attended Wednesday Night Ride, which continues to this day to be one of the largest club rides in Michigan!

Beginning in 2010, Range became much more formalized and with the permission of the cities of Ishpeming and Negaunee, 43 miles of trails began to be signed and mapped. RAMBA's SBT (snow bike trail) was implemented.

2013 brought year-round mountain biking to the area.

RAMBA become an IMBA Chapter, and along with the Noquemanon Trail Network (NTN), an IMBA Bronze Level Ride Center. Late in 2014, The 906 Adventure Team joined RAMBA.

Through a joint effort between RAMBA, The 906 Adventure Team and NTN SingleTrack; the nationally recognized Polar Roll Snowbike Race and the Marji Gesick 100 Mountain Bike Race began in 2015.
